I can hardly believe that our baby girl is ONE. The days leading up to her birthday, I spent a lot of time reminiscing about where we were exactly one year prior. She was waaaaaay overdue and I was completely unprepared for the actual birth we had and I remember it like it was just yesterday.
A lot of people have been saying “It goes by so fast, huh?” I feel like the appropriate answer is “yes, it really does” however, I would be lying if I said that. There were many, many, many days it went by incredibly slow. A lot of it was situational (our apt being 90 degrees pretty consistently, her waking up a lot during the nights, etc.), but she was also a more difficult baby. Those newborn days were not kind to us. However, I now look back on the past year and can’t believe that she has been with us for over a year. When I look back on the year it did go by fast, but as we were going through a lot of it, it didn’t go by fast at all. I hope that all made sense.
We had a fun Pineapple theme party for her in one of the community rooms in our complex. Truth be told the party was more for me and Matt since we survived that first year! Unfortunately I failed to take many photos which I’m super bummed about, but hopefully the day will remain vivid in my mind :)
{Pineapple sunglasses + pineapple hats}
{Every pineapple needs some pineapple sunglasses, right?}
{Desserts: pineapple cupcakes + coconut cupcakes + her smash cake}
{With Noni and Papa.}
{This is a bad picture, but I put her monthly photos around a “You are the Pineapple of my eye” print.}
{One of the highlights of her party for her.}
{The only fun picture I got with all the pineapple accessories.}
{With one of her boyfriends, Cam.}
{She was so funny when we sang “Happy Birthday.” She started leaning back in her chair and rubbed her head against the back of the high chair and was looking all around. I’m sure she was wondering what the heck we were doing.}
{The ONLY picture we got with the 3 of us.}
{With her Auntie Lolo.}
Our little girl is so incredibly loved (by many) and she brings us so much joy! We love watching her grow and learn and we can’t wait for what this next year has in store for us!
