Last weekend Matt and I headed up to Northern California for a friends wedding and a little getaway.
The wedding was on Friday, so we had the rest of the weekend to relax and enjoy being a couple. It was rainy and cold the entire weekend which made it all the more romantic :)

On Saturday we went to the bridal brunch, then headed to one of my many alma maters, Sonoma State, which was about 20 minutes away. After that exciting jaunt, we drove back to Sonoma and walked around the quaint little square. There were so many cute shops, restaurants and wineries to walk through.
The afternoon found us back at our hotel- me reading and Matt napping. Once you have a kid (or kids), it’s simply glorious to do nothing and just relax. We ventured out for pizza and salad, then headed straight back to our hotel. The fact that it was raining, made staying in all that more appealing plus I couldn’t put down my book.
{On the drive to Sonoma. It reminded me of how I think Ireland looks.}

We pretty much spent all of Sunday traveling. With the weather, we wanted to get to the airport in plenty of time to return the car and get through security. Then we had a nice two hour delay. With the time change it made for a very long day and a kind of rushed Sunday night, but getting to see our baby squeal with delight, kick her legs and give us the biggest hugs when we got home, made it all worth it :)
