Weekend Wrap-up

I was determined to have a better weekend than last weekend, even if the May Gray stuck around.

I feel like weekends are infinitely better when we do something on Friday night, even if it’s as simple as grabbing an early dinner. This takes waaaaaaaay more planning with a baby in tow, since we can’t exactly decide, at 7:30pm, to grab a bite to eat. Doing something on Friday night elongates the weekend somehow.

We tried out a great Thai place down the street from us. C had her first taste of Thai and she liked it. She really enjoyed the bean sprouts which surprised me since I think they’re more for looks, not for taste. To each their own.

Fri{The look of approval.}

On Saturday we had some friends from our Community Group over for a late afternoon BBQ. The girls were so cute together (8 months, 13 months, 14 months).

sat1{We looooooove to go check the mail.}

sat2{Charlotte and Maddy playing together. Maddy was so cute- she would give Charlotte a hug and Charlotte would squirm her way out of it. I guess touch isn’t one of Charlotte’s love languages.}

sat3{Before we know it, little Clementine will be stealing the ball back from the bigger girls.}

On Sunday we had one of those reeeeeeeeal good days that you just don’t want to end. It started with watching the marthoners. We walked down the hill, had a delicious (cheap) breakfast and cheered all the runners on. I got all emotional while watching them- that is hard work and something a lot of these people dream of doing one day. After that, C took a long nap and we headed to Liberty Station so she could burn a lot of energy. We decided to keep that momentum going and we went to the Waterpark downtown so she could burn off some more energy. She’s still too small for a lot of play equipment, but I went down the slide with her and we were catapulted a little too far and fast for my liking. I won’t be doing that again. The park has this really cool water feature with fountains and 2″ of water that kids can run and play in. She didn’t have her suit on, but it didn’t seem to matter to her since she decided to plop down in the water fully clothed. Note to self- have a bathing suit and change of clothes in the car at all times since we never know where the summer days will take us.

sun1{Waving to the runners. Can you stand the cuteness of her waving to them? She’s just recently really started enjoying to wave.}

sun2{Clapping for the runners with Dada.}

sun3{A very accurate picture- her trying to join the runners and me chasing after her before she gets in any ones way.}

sun5{Playing soccer in Liberty Station with the perfect Charlotte-sized beach ball.}

sun6{Getting the hang of this “riding on the shoulders” thing (kinda).}

sun- family{I love this little family of mine.}
