I remember last years Memorial Day weekend like it was just yesterday. My dad and sister were here meeting Charlotte for the first time, I was still in the “my life is over” and “what the heck am I doing” stage. Glad that is behind me.
We had a pretty chill weekend. No pun intended since it was a chilly weekend as well.
On Saturday we went to breakfast with Grandma, to a cute restaurant in La Jolla. It was such a nice morning and nothing could beat our ocean view. Afterwards we headed to a friends birthday party at a nearby park where Charlotte attempted to steal everyone’s phones and food and dig through any purse/diaper bag she could get her hands on.
{“Oh, hello there!”}
{Hanging with Grandma. C can’t sit still for the life of her for a photo anymore.}
{Does it not look like we’re standing in front of a green screen here? The clouds were unreal.}
{Running free! I hope I never forget the faces she makes when she runs.}
{Nothing like cookies and wagon rides.}
On Sunday we walked around the mall after C’s first nap. I had to return some things and we needed to get out of the house so we killed two birds with one stone. And we got to eat lunch at True Food which is always a win in my book.
{I’m sure the people after us really appreciated all the crumpled up sugar packets C left for them.}
{My baby girl… she makes me soooo happy.}
{We recently discovered the power of Sesame Street. Judge us all you want, but it allows us to have 10 minutes to get something done.}
On Monday we didn’t do much. The crappy weather really put a damper on everything. And I had no idea what to do in honor of Memorial Day. I wish there was an event or parade to attend, but I couldn’t find anything. AND we had a teething baby who wasn’t happy with much. No BBQ, no pool time, no fun kickoff to the summer. I don’t know what I was expecting since it’s usually May Gray. We went to the Reinkings for a couple hours in the afternoon and then called it a day and came home for C’s afternoon nap.
Here’s to hopefully a sunny (upcoming) weekend!
