Yes, I am completely aware the Charlotte’s birthday was almost a month ago (sniff, sniff), but there’s no time like the present to get these pictures posted and to recap that weekend.
We were so lucky to have our entire family around to celebrate our Sweet C. It helps that there are only 7 of us (including C), so it’s not too hard to coordinate our schedules/calendars.. I put everyone to work and took full advantage of their offers to help (i.e. making food, picking up items, setting things up, etc.). It takes a village, ya know?
We spent Friday doing last minute shopping for the party and putting some finishing touches on our apartment. I put my parents to work :) Even though the party wasn’t going to be in our apartment, it was nice to know that it’s pretty much completely done and decorated.

Saturday was party day! Charlotte took a nice long nap in the morning. She must have known she needed all the sleep she could get since she needed her game birthday face ready. We had such a great time at her party, but of course I feel like it flew by and just like that it was over. We opened up 1/2 her presents after her party and the other 1/2 on Sunday. She didn’t know what was going on, but it was cute to see her react to different toys and gifts.

On Sunday (Charlotte’s actual birthday), we went to brunch at USD, walked around the campus, went swimming and finished the night with a BBQ. I gave Charlotte more cake and again, she just wasn’t that into it. She didn’t want to taste it or touch it. I should have made her a cake out of chicken meatballs.

{One of our favorite things to do at our new place is to check the mail then take a loooooong walk back to the apt. Charlotte has to say hi to everyone that passes her, tries to get onto everyone’s private patios, chases and points to every doggy she sees and picks all the flowers she can reach. She enjoyed showing Noni and Papa this routine of ours.}
We finished the nice long weekend with 6 shots. Happy birthday to her, huh? Poor thing. This set of shots was waaaaaaaaay harder than any other set she’s received. I think it’s because she’s way more aware and really knows pain. The look in her eyes killed me. I was seriously in a bad mood the rest of the day because of the pain she was caused :( Luckily she forgot all about the shots about 15 minutes after she received them.
