What a weekend we had! It was super fun-filled and revolved around nap times :)
Charlotte’s naps are still somewhat inconsistent (as far as when and how long), so I’m ready for her to be done with naps. She still takes one nap in the morning and one in the afternoon, but they can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. If they were consistent, like 9-10:30am and 1:30-3pm I would want her to continue taking them forever. Anywho, we like her to get at least one nap in her crib, per day.
After her 120 minute nap on Saturday morning, we headed to the zoo again. Our annual pass expires on 5/31, so we’re getting in as many trips as we can. We’re not sure if we’ll renew it again.
{You know it was a good nap when you wake up with markings on your face.}
{Still riding shotgun in the Ergo. I can’t remember the last time we had her in the Ergo…}
After the zoo, we headed to the North Park festival. We were literally there just to eat lunch. It’s hard being in crowds with a stroller. Plus it can’t be much fun for her while being in the stroller since all she sees are peoples behinds.
{If C gets squirmy when Matt is holding her, this is what happens. She actually enjoys it. I would lose my lunch.}
{And then he lets her down and she is as happy as can be. FREEDOM!}
After her (45 minute) afternoon nap, we did more car research, as in sat in 10+ SUV’s at Carmax and test drove a couple. We’ve been doing lots of Consumer Reports research and they can only tell you so much, ya know? We figured we needed to sit in the car to get a real feel for it- poor rear visibility, comfortable, any special features, where are all the knobs and such, then we’ll go back to Consumer Reports and compare and contrast. We are still completely undecided.
On Sunday we had brunch at USD with the Reinkings then walked around the campus. We came across an awesome outside playpen for the kids and let them run around for a little while. Unfortunately they learned pretty quickly that they could climb over said walls and run away. At least they were entertained for a few minutes.
{Said playpen.}
{Charlotte and Davis. Leave it to C to try to climb in.}
We went home and waited for C’s second nap to come, but it was taking foreverrrrrrrrr, so we decided to go to Target and got some fro yo. Of course she fell asleep in the car on the way to Target. It was nice for me because I got a peaceful 30 minute solo Target trip while Matt waited in the car her. After Target and fro you we went to Barnes and Nobel and let her destroy some of their book displays play. Being the perfect parents that we are (I can’t even type that without laughing out loud), we cleaned up her mess behind her.
{She loooooooves fro yo. She was like a little bird following mine and Matt’s spoons.}
{Working on her comedy material.}
I can’t believe that next weekend is Memorial weekend! How did that happen? Didn’t think I’d EVER say this, but I’m hoping the May Gray we’ve been experiencing burns off a little so we can have a warm 3 day weekend.
